"db-db loves you" 是一個旨於建立虛擬身分和關係的概念網路平臺。db-db其實從 2001 年開始在網路上成為提供藝術和設計資訊的虛擬社區，它亦鼓勵和發動了許多網絡的藝術創作。延續 db-db 提倡個人創作的精神，這個最新的版本希望在Blog文化熾熱的年代打造另一個虛擬文化和關係的實驗場。

從技術層面來看，db-db是一個 WYSIWYG 的網站編製和分享系統。它可以讓使用者隨意地製作他們的網路空間，而不需要有編寫程式的能力。系統會提供類似於 Photoshop 或者 Flash 般的版面製作工具，讓使用者建立更有個人風格和具設計感的網站或Blog。對於很多人來講，Blog 可能就是他們在網路世界的化身，有時候這個虛擬的身分甚至比真實世界的自己更加真實。所以db-db提供的是一個多功能的工具，來打造那個虛擬的你的外觀。

隨著社交網站的興起，每時每刻都會讓兩個人在網路上建立起關係。但很多這類型的網站，因為商業的考量，會把重點放在如何用最短的時間擴大人際網絡，而不著重於這段關係究竟真不真實或者質量如何。然而，db-db的交友部份，卻是要用戶跟用戶之家建立一種比較含蓄的關係。我們不希望他們可以很容易地建立起關係，甚至要成為用戶也不簡單。他們需要提交一張驗證照，照片裡必須清楚地看見容貌和一樣寫著他的用戶名稱的物件。而建立關係之後，系統會透過一些遊戲讓他們付出時間和精神，用心來慢慢地經營。

"db-db loves you" is a new web arena for exhibiting online identities and connecting like-minded individuals. It is a continuation of the online design community project db-db.com. Since 2001, db-db was started as an online inspiration outlet and a collaboration platform. It has fostered many self-initiated art and design projects. Now, with the surging of Blogs and social networking sites, db-db aims to help people create their own platforms - provide applications that can create sophisticated Blogs and web pages. It also attempts to advocate a different kind of online relationships.

Technically, db-db is a WYSIWYG-type web authoring system and community. It allows the user to create data-driven web pages or blogs in a web-based graphical user interface. The embedded system provides, not only templates, but also layout-editing tools for designing highly personalized blogs and interactive sites. Blogs can be regarded as many people’s online presences; db-db offers freedom and flexibility in expressing users' tastes and identities through the design and appearance of their db-db Blogs.

In addition, establishing relationships on the Internet becomes so prevalent nowadays. Numerous social networking sites are trying to make links between people around the globe every minute. Many of them focus on helping the user expand their networks as fast as possible in order to make profits. However, we question the authenticity of these relationships, many of which are just based on a mere click, by creating a new networking system. db-db takes on another approach in its social networking part. Although it is also set up as a place to make new friends, it is passive when you want to establish a link with somebody. For example, you can choose to add another db-db user to your love list, however, he/she will not be told who you are until he/she also adds you. Serendipity counts. Furthermore, db-db is a testbed for online relationships that based on time and effort. There are games that allow you to spend time, effort and even money to somebody in order to impress them or gain their trust.

3. 基本模式和设计师模式：基本模式只提供 db-db 的模板给你们建立你的网页或 Blog；而设计师模式就可以让你们使用 db-db 的设计工具建造一个独一无二的网络空间。注意：设计师模式会有点难度的喔...

4. db-db 页面：在设计师模式下操作，你可以建立最多10个不同的独立页面，而每个页面也是同样利用在其左下角的 db-db 标志登入和进入管理介面。

5. db-db 图片和小玩具：在设计师模式下操作，你可以上载最多10Mb的图片（支援 jpg, 静态 gif 和 png 档桉），而且你还可以到 db-db 商店裡获取超可爱的互动小玩具。

6. 爱爱爱：在浏览每个 db-db 页面时，你可按滑鼠的右键然后选 User Profile 查看页面主人的资料。点击小名片上面的红心便可以把对方放在你的爱爱爱裡和看到他/她的最新动态。如果有一天那人也加入了你，你们就可以爱爱爱了！

1. db-db is a net art project created and operated by dbdbking. Its aim is to create alternative online spaces and to advocate a kind of subtler virtual relationships.

2. I Love db Photo: all users have to submit a photo to verify her/his identity within 7 days after registration. The photo must show the user's face and a handwritten sign with "xxx loves db-db" on it (xxx = username).

3. Basic and Designer Mode: Once you log in to your account, you can choose to use Basic or Designer Mode to create your db-db space. Basic mode is a template-based system that sets up your blog or website with just a couple clicks. Designer Mode is a WYSIWYG system, it has a number of layout and interface editing tools to create your very unique web projects.

4. db-db Pages: Under Designer Mode, you can make 10 different layouts, each saved in a separate HTML file.

5. db-db Images and Goodies: Under Designer Mode, you will have 10Mb storage for your images and the interactive goodies from our db-db Shop.

6. Love Love Love: It is where you can subtly interact with other db-db users.
