As we all know,China is a country with abundant and diversified cultural resources,we have many heritage which are in a urgent need of attention and protection. It’s necessary for China to put considerable effort into raising public awareness to the importance of ICH protection.and beef up public awareness regarding the protection of Chinese heritage is very important. The good news is ,The UNESCO revised its biannual appraisal to an annual one while canceling limitations on the number of each country's application. A sense of urgency to protect the heritages worldwide that existed on the verge of decay or destruction spurred the UNESCO revision.So it’s a right choice that UNESCO eliminated the numerical limitations on each country's application. This year，china has 22 applications have been approved Included among the 22 items are either crafts that have greatly influenced world culture—such as papermaking, block printing, sericulture and silk craftsmanship, and celadon firing—or art forms that embody the cultural diversity of China its 56 ethnic groups, such as the King Gesar epic tradition for ethnic Tibetan, Mongolian and Tu communities in west and north China and the Grand song of the Dong ethnic group. And all of this encourage us and increased our commitment to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. China's understanding of ICH's importance has deepened in the past four years. At first, the purpose of such applications was to rediscover the value of Chinese traditional culture, but the focus quickly changed to sharing China's cultural heritage with the rest of the world. Already, efforts have paid off as a substantial following of supporters has emerged from the various levels of local governments.More and more folk arts museums and institutes were set up,some provinces and autonomous regions have already introduced their own ICH protection provisions. As a contemporary college students, we should also understand our own nation's non-material culture and contribute our strength to protect it, publicize it and promote it. Chinese intangible cultural heritage is a huge treasure, It is our responsibility and mission to preserving its roots and bring it to the world.
